The ASI 0412 Recessed Shelf was designed with the needs of hotel bathrooms in mind, but can be used in any type of commercial setting, where semi-enclosed storage is required. For proper installation, the shelf requires a rough opening that measures 16-1/2 inches in width by 6-1/2 inches in height by 4 inches in depth. The shelf unit is 18 inches in width by 8 inches in height in size and extends from the mounting surface by 1/4 of an inch once installed. The shelf is made of fine quality, type-304, 18-8 alloy, 22-gauge stainless steel. All of the exposed surfaces have an attractive No. 4 satin finish, which has an eye-catching gleam, but is less likely to show fingerprints that polished surfaces. The face trim on the shelf is 1 inch wide, and the entire unit is crafted from one piece of metal, so that there are no seams, miters or burrs.
